We all make mistakes but when this footage of a crash emerged this weekend, it was pretty hard to stay calm and objective.
Let’s start with the hundreds of people in the crowd, which can be safely classified as monumentally stupid, and conclude of course with the driver of that silver Fiat Grande Punto.

The crash took place on October 4 at perhaps the most notorious road section just outside Athens, Greece, called Limanakia, famous for its active street racing activities and for some of the most shocking crashes in the country over the past couple of decades.
The popularity of this particular section of coastal road is so great that people actually park their cars on specific corners to spectate the wannabe race drivers trying to kill everyone around them. It’s a proper sh*tshow, and of course, there’s no guard rail present for the majority of the corner radius to even create the illusion of safety for bystanders.
The silver Fiat Grande Punto came in really hot and understeered into the opposite lane, crashing hard with a Ford Fiesta and a bike that followed it before coming to a stop. According to local media reports, including from Proto Thema, no one was seriously injured in the crash, which frankly sounds like a miracle after watching the video, shot by one of the “spectators”. The crash was so severe that the front left wheel of the Fiat was torn off.
We could easily make fun of the Fiat driver, who deserves all the ridicule after putting everyone’s lives in danger and call it a day but to witness hundreds of people willing to take a risk so great is simply mind-baffling. And let’s not forget, there’s a pandemic currently going on too, and that doesn’t look like social distancing to us.
