While it remains to be seen if Karma Automotive will be able to succeed where Fisker couldn’t, the 2020 Revero GT is certainly a very striking car to look at, and Jonny Lieberman from Motor Trend recently had the opportunity to check one out.

Lieberman believes that once high-performance electric cars become the norm, the differentiating factor between them will be design. With that in mind, he took a trip to Karma’s design studio in Irvine, California to discover just how the car manufacturer focuses on the styling of the Revero GT, as well as some of its recent concept cars.

It has been roughly 18 months since the 2020 Revero GT was unveiled, while sales commenced recently. It features a hybrid electric powertrain using a BMW-sourced TwinPower Turbo three-cylinder petrol engine as a range extender. The Chinese-backed car manufacturer says the car produces a total of 528 hp and features a 28 kWh battery pack, offering an all-electric range of up to 80 miles (128 km) and a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time of 4.5 seconds.

In June, Karma Automotive announced optional sport and performance packages for the car. Included with the sport package are a number of carbon fiber accents as well as 22-inch wheels. It also receives a high-performance braking system with cross-drilled discs and red calipers. The performance package includes the same braking system as the sport package but retains the looks of the standard Revero GT.
