We are currently living in an age where electric sedans are producing over 1,000 hp and electric hypercars are producing almost 2,000 hp. Of the new hypercars that are in the works, the second-generation Tesla Roadster is arguably the most anticipated.

It has been almost three years since the new Roadster was unveiled as a functional prototype and, while it is still some time away from reaching the production line, it promises to offer extraordinary performance for $200,000, while its rivals demand upwards of 10 times that price.

Tesla chief executive Elon Musk has previously confirmed that the Roadster will be available with a ‘SpaceX Package’ that includes cold air thrusters. While this will likely prove to be the flagship variant of the Roadster, Hakosan Design has decided to render what a potential track-only variant of the upcoming Roadster could look like.

The first thing that strikes you about this Roadster, simply known as the Tesla LM, is the fact that it is significantly wider than the standard car. As such, it features a set of swollen arches that house a set of race-ready wheels with slick tires.

A host of aerodynamic changes have also been made. For example, there is a prominent front splitter and a large grille that funnels air out through an air vent in the hood. The rear of the Tesla LM is also extraordinarily bold, with a towering wing and a massive diffuser to help stick the car to the pavement.
