Porsche introduced the facelifted Panamera back in August, and now the company is following up with additional variants.

The most notable is the 2021 Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid which is the most powerful Panamera as well as the second most powerful Porsche currently in existence.

Motivation comes from a plug-in hybrid powertrain that features a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 563 hp (420 kW / 571 PS).  The model also has a larger 17.9 kWh battery pack which powers an electric motor that develops 134 hp (100 kW / 136 PS).

This gives the car a combined output of 689 hp (514 kW / 699 PS) and 642 lb-ft (870 Nm) of torque.  It enables the Sedan and Sport Turismo variants to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in three seconds, before hitting a top speed of 196 mph (315 km/h).

For buyers with more modest budgets, there’s the 2021 Panamera 4 E-Hybrid which slots beneath the recently introduced Panamera 4S E-Hybrid. The non S variant has a twin-turbo V6 engine and an electric motor which is integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

This gives the model a combined output of 455 hp (339 kW / 461 PS).  It allows the car to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.2 seconds, before topping out at 174 mph (280 km/h).

Besides introducing the plug-in hybrids, Porsche unveiled the 2021 Panamera 4S.  It features a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 that develops 443 hp (330 kW / 449 PS). In terms of performance, 60 mph (96 km/h) comes in 3.9 seconds when equipped with the optional Sport Chrono package.  The top speed also climbs by 4 mph (6 km/h) to 183 mph (295 km/h).

The new Panameras will be available to order in the United States early next year and pricing will be announced closer to launch.  However, that’s several months off as the models aren’t slated to arrive until the spring of 2021.

The cars are currently available to order in Germany and will arrive at dealerships in December. Porsche also announced the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid will have an electric-only range of up to 31 miles (50 km), while the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid can go up to 35 miles (56 km).  However, both those numbers are according to WLTP EAER City guidelines.
