Twin-turbocharged C8 Chevrolet Corvette Stingrays have started to pop up in recent months and this particular example from Extreme Turbo Systems looks to be the world’s quickest.
The turbocharges used by this 2020 Corvette Stingray each measure 46 mm and it also features Mahle pistons, a methanol injection kit, an intercooler with an ice box, high-flow intake and exhaust systems, and a set of aftermarket clutches for the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. All up, the car makes a wild 1,021 hp and 917 lb-ft (1,243 Nm) of torque at the rear wheels.
While recently testing out the car at the drag strip, the aftermarket specialist ran the powertrain at 13 psi, 18 psi, and 20 psi. After a day of testing, the Vette set a best quarter-mile time of 9.95 seconds at 144.11 mph (232 km/h).

A quarter-mile time of 9.95 seconds is on par with the quickest times recorded by stock McLaren 720Ss. What makes the Corvette’s time particularly impressive is the fact that it was recorded while the mid-engined sports car continues to rock its standard ECU.
The ECU of the new Corvette has been previously described as ‘unhackable’, meaning aftermarket companies have yet to crack into it and haven’t been able to tweak the software to match the hardware modifications. It’s for this reason that Extreme Turbo Systems isn’t currently selling its twin-turbo kit for the Corvette to customers and won’t do so until someone is able to gain access to the ECU.
