The Grand Tour co-presenter and reviewer for The Sunday Times, Jeremy Clarkson, has announced his favorite Supercar of the Year during this past weekend’s News UK Motor Awards.
The honor went to the Eagle Lightweight GT, which is a throwback to the original Jaguar E-Type Lightweight, a true automotive jewel, with timeless looks, a luxurious interior and a dry weight of 2,242 pounds (1,017 kg).

It will do the nought to 60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint in less than 5 seconds, with a 170+ mph (273 km/h) top speed, aided by a naturally aspirated 4.7-liter straight-six. The engine, which features an aluminum block and three Weber carburetors, develops 380 horsepower and 375 pound-feet (508 Nm) of torque, paired to a five-speed manual gearbox.
Only two Eagle Lightweight GTs are made each year in the UK, with the assembly of each car taking over 8,000 hours to complete.
Part of the same awards, Jezza also announced his People’s Car of the Year: the MINI JCW GP. The subcompact hot hatch is a force to be reckoned with, with 301 HP and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) produced by the TwinPower Turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, offering a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration of 5.2 seconds and a maximum speed of 165 mph (265 km/h).
Production of the John Cooper Works (JCW) GP is limited to 3,000 cars worldwide.
