Hennessey has put its tuned Cadillac CTS-V against a stock Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in a quarter-mile sprint to highlight the differences between the two high-performance models.
Equipped with their HPE1000 kit, which includes a high-flow supercharger, many upgraded and new components and a reinforced transmission, to name but a few, the super sedan enjoys 1,000 HP at 6,400 rpm and 966 lb-ft (1,310 Nm) of torque at 4,400 rpm.

According to the Texan tuner, this translates into 2.7 seconds for the nought to 60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint, a one second improvement over the stock car. Speaking of the standard variant, it has 640 HP at 6,400 rpm and 630 lb-ft (854 Nm) at 3,600 rpm produced by the supercharged 6.2-liter V8, and a 200 mph (322 km/h) top speed.
The Camaro ZL1 is no slouch either, with 650 HP produced at 6,400 rpm by the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) at 3,600 rpm. Chevy’s muscle car can push from 0 to 60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.5 seconds en route to a maximum speed of 202 mph (325 km/h).
Mind you, the Camaro ZL1 that was set loose at the Pennzoil Proving Grounds against the Cadillac CTS-V is about to get tuned by Hennessey too. When it does, it will boast 1,000 HP and 883 lb-ft (1,197 Nm), for a 0-60 mph of just 2.1 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 9.57 seconds with an exit speed of 147 mph (237 km/h), according to the tuner’s measurements, while top speed will stand at 217 mph (350 km/h).
