The New 2021 Genesis GV80 Touches Down In Australia With Three Engine Options

The 2021 Genesis GV80 has just arrived in Australia, a couple of months after the first pricing details and specifications were announced. The South Korean car manufacturer has also released a comprehensive gallery of the GV80 in Australian specification.

Local buyers will have a host of GV80 variants to choose from. Sitting at the base of the range is the GV80 2.5T model that features a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 300 hp (224 kW) and 311 lb-ft (422 Nm) of torque. As standard, this engine is coupled to a rear-wheel drive system and an eight-speed automatic transmission and is priced from AU$90,600 (US$63,826), while customers can pay an extra AU$5000 (US$3,522) for all-wheel drive.

Next in the line-up is a 3.0-liter straight-six turbodiesel delivering 273 hp (204 kW) and 434 lb-ft (588 Nm). It comes standard with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic and is also equipped with a limited-slip differential. Pricing starts at AU$103,600 (US$72,984).

The most powerful engine on offer will be the new 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 rated at 375 hp (279 kW) and 391 lb-ft (530 Nm). Like the diesel, it too comes with an eight-speed automatic, all-wheel drive and a limited-slip differential. It is available from AU$108,600 (US$76,507).

All variants can be equipped with a Luxury Package for AU$10,000 (US$7,044) and matte paint for AU$2,000 (US$1,408). The Luxury Package includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, three-zone climate control, 18-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with massage function, Nappa leather, soft-close doors, and more.

Like other Genesis, Hyundai and Kia models, the 2021 GV80 includes a chassis tuned specifically for Australia to ensure the optimal ride for local roads.
