Lingenfelter is putting its modifications for the C8 Chevrolet Corvette to the test and recently headed out to the track to make sure they’re perfect before an official release on November 9.

While this video doesn’t go into all that much detail about what upgrades are being readied by Lingenfelter, a little bit of research shows that the aftermarket specialist is working on a host of changes to make the mid-engine Corvette faster and even more appealing.

First and foremost, Lingenfelter is testing a carbon fiber intake manifold plenum that is briefly shown in this video. Not only does this part promise to add a bit of power but it also makes the engine bay look even better than it already does. Complementing the carbon manifold are a pair of carbon fiber cross braces.

Elsewhere, Lingenfelter is working on a custom exhaust system for the C8.

This is all we know at the moment but there’s little doubt that Lingenfelter is working on other upgrades for GM’s halo sports car. One of the prototypes featured in this video wears an eye-catching Continental wrap and could be hiding some unknown modifications under the skin.

It is not secret that tuning companies have had trouble modifying the C8 Corvette from the moment deliveries began because of its encrypted ECU. Sure, some companies have already twin-turbocharged the Corvette but they’ve been unable to match hardware modifications with appropriate software upgrades to make sure everything runs smoothly. Here’s hoping that when someone unlocks the ECU, the floodgates will open for C8 modifications.
