Renault has released the first teaser video of what is likely the new Trafic.

The company is keeping details under wraps, but the teaser image was accompanied by a cryptic message saying “For its 40th anniversary… one of our most iconic vehicle[s] is getting a makeover… you’ll like it.”

While we wouldn’t exactly call the Trafic an icon, the model is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Furthermore, the grille and headlight design appears similar to those seen on previous prototypes.

Little is known about the model at this point, but it’s slated to feature an evolutionary front end with slender headlights and a revised grille. The model also sports a new hood which appears higher than on the current Trafic.

While initial speculation suggested the model would be redesigned, it appears this could simply be another facelift. If that’s the case, expect changes to be largely limited to the front end and possibility the interior.

That being said, there have been rumors about a revised engine lineup that could include electrified powertrains. There’s no word on specifics, but the larger Renault Master is available with an electric powertrain that shares a number of components with the Zoe.

There’s no word on when the model will be introduced, but the teaser video says “stay tuned.” That seems to suggest an official unveiling is right around the corner.
