This 1973 BMW 3.0 CS may not be one of the fastest cars ever produced by the German car manufacturer, but it is certainly one of the most desirable.
This car was manufactured on November 21, 1972 and delivered new to Hoffman Motors Corp in New York City. It was recently offered at an online auction with a clean Kansas title and service records dating back to 2013, and it sold for $75,000.

According to the Bring A Trailer listing, the car was acquired by the current owner in 2016 after it had spent a long time in storage. The new owner made a host of modifications, the most significant of which saw the standard engine replaced with the 3.5-liter M30B35 inline-six of a 1988 BMW 635CSi.
Moreover, this engine was rebuilt with a polished crankshaft, an upgrade camshaft, forged connecting rods and 10.5:1 pistons. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a Getrag 265 five-speed manual transmission with a lightweight flywheel.
The car left the factory painted in black and was repainted roughly two decades ago. The 3.0 CS sits on staggered-width 16-inch Coupeking alloy wheels with Alpina-branded center caps and wrapped in Continental Extreme Contact tires.
