Hyundai’s N Division has released more teasers of the upcoming Kona N, which is expected to premiere sometime next year.
The sporty crossover remains under wraps though, but we already know that it is based on the facelifted iteration, adding a specific body kit with bigger bumpers and side skirts, different grille and rear spoiler. The larger tailpipes, ‘N’ badging and new wheels will also be part of the makeover, whereas rounding out the design should be exclusive color options.

Although the interior has yet to be a secret, it should feature a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, alongside the 10.25-inch infotainment system, both of them perhaps with distinctive screens. It will also benefit from ambient lighting, body-hugging seats at the front and a selection of new materials, perhaps with contrast stitching and piping and revised trim.
With the Volkswagen T-Roc R in its sights, the Kona N will pack a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. The engine is shared with the performance brand’s other models, and should kick out 246 HP and 260 lb-ft (353 Nm) of torque as standard. Opt for the Performance Package, though, and the numbers should increase to 276 HP and 289 lb-ft (392 Nm). The model is expected with front-wheel drive only, and customers might could choose between a six-speed manual or an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
