2021 Hyundai Palisade Joins The Brand’s Australian Lineup Priced From AU$60,000

The Hyundai Palisade has made its way to Australia, with seating for seven or eight and a choice of two powertrains, including a diesel.

The right-hand drive SUV is powered by a 3.8-liter V6 petrol engine that delivers 217 kW (295 PS / 291 HP) and 355 Nm (262 lb-ft) of torque. It is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive being reserved for the 2.2-liter diesel. The latter produces 147 kW (200 PS / 197 HP) and 440 Nm (325 lb-ft), is also paired to an eight-speed auto and returns 7.3 l/100 km (32.2 mpg US), a 3.4 l/100 km (69.2 mpg US) improvement over the petrol-powered mill.

Pricing starts at AU$60,000 (US$44,968) for the base model when ordered with the petrol or AU$64,000 (US$47,966) with the diesel engine, while the range-topping Palisade Highlander will set buyers back at least AU$71,000 (US$53,212) and AU$75,000 (US$56,210) respectively, excluding delivery and on-road costs.

The entry-level Palisade is equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, sat-nav with live traffic updates, Infinity audio system, Quiet Mode, Driver Talk, 7-inch TFT color display, three-zone climate control and leather upholstery.

Choosing the better-specced Palisade Highlander will get you 20-inch alloy wheels, LED front and rear lights, surround view monitor, electric tailgate, Nappa leather seats, suede roof liner, head-up display, rear door blinds, heated and ventilated first- and second-row seats, sunroof, heated steering wheel and so on.

The blind spot collision avoidance system, forward collision avoidance, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, rear cross traffic collision avoidance, reversing camera, trailer stability assist, tire pressure monitoring, smart cruise control with stop and go and high beam assist are standard in both models.
