The 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series will arrive in the United States early next year and the company has announced pricing will start at $325,000 – excluding a $1,050 destination and delivery fee.
Costing nearly twice as much as the GT R, the GT Black Series is billed as an “incomparable flagship” which features an expressive design, sophisticated aerodynamics and the “most powerful AMG V8 production engine of all time.”
Starting with the latter, the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 has been massaged to produce a Hellcat-like 720 hp (537 kW / 730 PS) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission which sends power to the rear wheels. This enables the Black Series to roast tires and rocket from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.1 seconds. Given enough room, the model will eventually top out at 202 mph (325 km/h).

Besides the almighty engine, the Black Series has a motorsport-inspired design with a carbon fiber front splitter, carbon fiber front fenders and a ventilated carbon fiber hood. Other notable highlights include a larger grille, a carbon fiber roof and a carbon fiber rear hatch with lightweight glass. The model also sports a carbon fiber rear wing as well as staggered wheels which measure 19-inches front and 20-inch rear.
The sporty styling continues in the cabin as drivers will find a microfiber-wrapped sport steering wheel and AMG Performance seats with Nappa leather and microfiber upholstery as well as silver or orange contrast stitching. Other highlights include matte black carbon fiber trim and lightweight door panels with pull straps. Last but not least, there’s a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment system.
