Abarth has managed to set a new Guinness World Record for something you didn’t know existed and probably don’t care about.
So, what did they do to have their name written in The Guinness Book of Records this time? They set up a Facebook page and reached out to their fan base to upload photos of their cars.
Within one hour, the Abarth owners had uploaded 868 images of their rides. This landed them the record for ‘the largest digital gathering ever’.

Part of the ‘Abarth Digital Day’, the event, which promoted social distancing, was attended by Ylenia Baccario from Italy’s ‘Tutto esaurito’ radio program, who presented the live stream, alongside DJ Fabio Liuzzi. The digital creator Ema Motorsport hosted a live performance from the Officine Abarth, revealing some rare rides from the Scorpion brand to the online audience.
Abarth counts 87 official clubs around the world, with over 5,000 members, while others belong to ‘The Scorpionship’ community that has been active in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) region for four years.
Abarth’s latest Guinness World Record comes two years after they managed to pull off ‘the fastest figure of eight, five times between two cars’. Back then, they used a stock 124 Spider, which managed to do it in 45.66 seconds, in the hands of stunt driver Alastair Moffatt, who also holds other Guinness World Record titles. Among his achievements were the ‘tightest reverse parallel park’ and the ‘tightest single parallel park’.
