Ares Design’s Wami Lalique Spyder Is A Modern Day Maserati A6G/2000 Spyder

Ares Design introduced Project Wami in 2018 and now they’re following up with a production model.

Dubbed the Wami Lalique Spyder, it draws inspiration from 1950s roadsters and is almost a carbon copy of the 1956 Maserati A6G/2000 Spyder by Frua. However, it’s much more modern as it boasts a handcrafted carbon fiber and aluminum body.

The front end is dominated by a large egg crate grille flanked by bright bumperettes and circular lighting units. It also features a ram air hood, front fender vents and old-school wire wheels.

Other notable styling features include a retractable soft top, bright side skirts and retro mirrors. There’s also a chromed four-tailpipe exhaust system and protruding rear fenders.

The cabin mixes modern touches with old world charm as the analogue gauges are separated by a digital display. The model also features a freestanding infotainment system and a two-tone dashboard with English oak trim. We can also see circular air vents, an analog clock and Italian leather seats. Another interesting touch are the handmade crystal embellishments, which come from French crystal maker Lalique.

Ares Design co-founder and CEO Dany Bahar described the Wami Lalique Spyder as the “ultimate luxury accessory” and promised it will be a “joy to own.”

“Owners will be able to relive the romance of travel that is synonymous with the Côte D’Azur and the Amalfi Coast of the 1950s in a beautifully adorned masterpiece; the epitome of bejewelled excellence”, Bahar stated.

The company is currently accepting orders and the first production run will be limited to 12 units.
