The 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine of the C8 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, which delivers 495 hp and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm), is enough to send the mid-engined sports car to 60 mph (96 km/h) in under 3 seconds. However, for those looking for some added performance, ProCharger has the answer.
Not long after being teased, the company has released full details about its supercharger kit and it’s more than enough to keep Corvette owners happy until the next Z06 arrives.
ProCharger’s supercharger forms part of a bolt-on kit and runs between 8-9 psi of boost. It includes a CNC billet intake manifold, an air-to-water intercooler, and pumps out 700 hp when running on premium fuel. No torque figure has been revealed.

Not only does the supercharger kit give the car significantly more power than it leaves the factory with, but thanks to the billet intake manifold, it also looks really good. Unfortunately, pricing details for the supercharger kit have yet to be announced.
For those that prefer to stay away from the aftermarket scene, Chevrolet itself is working on a handful of new, more hardcore Corvette variants.
The first, which is already out testing, will be the new Corvette Z06. Unlike the previous-generation Z06 that rocked a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with 650 hp and 650 lb-ft, Chevrolet will go in a different direction with the C8, outfitting it with a 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 with a flat-plane crank that’s closely related to the one used by the C8.R race car. It is claimed that this engine could rev to 9,000 rpm and deliver as much as 625 hp and 485 lb-ft (647 Nm) of torque.
