The E30 M3 sure has a special place not just among petrolheads but in BMW‘s history too, so four years ago the German automaker celebrated the first ever E30 M3 sold with the limited-run M3 ’30 Jahre’ Edition.

Out of 500 units, just 150 made the trip across the Atlantic, so this makes it a pretty rare sight on our streets.

They first started arriving in the U.S. back in 2016, retailing for $83,250 with the six-speed manual and $86,150 with the dual-clutch transmission like this 2017 example that’s available through Bring a Trailer.

It has a BMW Individual Macao Blue exterior, featuring 30 Jahre badges, high-gloss Shadow Line trim, as well as factory-standard 20-inch wheels with blue calipers. Since its based on the previous-gen M3 Competition Pack model, you also get a quicker steering ratio and revised settings for the adaptive M suspension and stability control.

Furthermore, all U.S. models came with the Driver Assistance Plus and Executive Packages, adding features such as Active Blind Spot Detection, Side and Top View Cameras, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, adaptive full LED headlights and automatic high beams.

The seats are also heated and are trimmed in black leather with silver stitching and blue inserts, while the rest of the cabin boasts 30 Jahre badging on the door sill guards, dashboard and front seat headrests.

As for the engine, it is a twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight six packing 444 HP and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque. The seller put 29,000 miles (46,670 km) on it, so it’s not a low-mileage example, but then again, this is a pretty rare spec, so there shouldn’t be a shortage of takers.
