After a successful trial in Germany last year, Porsche has launched its digital sales channel in eight other European countries.

This means that customers in Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Italy, France, Poland, Slovenia and Estonia can now buy their new or used Porsches online, from the comfort of their sofa, bed, or office. The UK is said to follow soon.

Dealers across these countries offer most of their new and used models on the platform, including both standard variants as well as rare derivatives. Porsche plans to expand the platform and create an online marketplace for all of its products and services.

“The sales figures and positive feedback from customers and dealers are proof that we have paved the right way for digital car sales in the future with our online sales strategy. We will be continuing on the same path in 2021 by launching online sales in additional countries,” said Barbara Frenkel, Vice President Sales Region Europe.

Depending on the market, car sales will be executed online as many times as possible, with customers even being able to have their car delivered right at their home.

According to Porsche, 40 percent of its online buyers in Italy are new customers, with used cars accounting for 90 percent. As for which model Italians prefer, that would be the 911, the brand’s most iconic nameplate.

The German brand has also allowed customers in China to access its products online using WeChat, the People’s Republic most popular smartphone app.

Furthermore, various Porsche lifestyle products and driving experiences can be purchased online through the new Porsche flagship store on Tmall, China’s largest B2C online marketplace.
