The Ram 1500 TRX is one of the most extreme pickups ever and it’s officially in production as the first model has rolled off the assembly line in Michigan.
The first truck was, unsurprisingly, a Launch Edition and it will be auctioned for charity in the near future. There’s no word on specifics at this point, but it could bring in a princely sum as the limited run TRX sold out in less than three hours.
As a refresher, the $92,010 Ram 1500 TRX Launch Edition features an exclusive Anvil Gray exterior with bodyside graphics and 18-inch beadlock-capable wheels wrapped in 35-inch Goodyear tires. The special edition also sports carbon fiber trim, a panoramic sunroof and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system.

The amenities don’t end there, as the truck comes equipped with heated and ventilated leather seats as well as a wireless smartphone charger, a 12-inch Uconnect infotainment system and a digital rearview mirror.
Like the standard model, the Launch Edition has a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that produces 702 hp (523 kW / 712 PS) and 650 lb-ft (880 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a standard four-wheel drive system. This enables the TRX to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.5 seconds, run the quarter mile in 12.9 seconds at 108 mph (174 km/h) and hit a top speed of 118 mph (190 km/h).
Besides the powerful engine, the TRX has an aggressive exterior with wider fenders and extended flares. It also sports a ram air hood, a unique grille and a heavy duty steel front bumper. Other highlights include a reinforced frame, a 2-inch (51 mm) lift and an off-road focused suspension with the largest rear springs “ever applied on a non-commercial production vehicle”, according to Ram.
