Ever since the nameplate’s inception back in 1993, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always featured a balanced dose of sportiness and ruggedness in its design. It was true for the first-gen ZJ model, and it’s still true for the fourth generation WK2.
This upcoming WL model seems to go by a different design philosophy with proportions more akin to the Dodge Durango than Grand Cherokee’s of the past, judging by recent prototype sightings that formed the base for these renderings by Kolesa.

We expect the interior to be significantly updated compared to the current-gen model, with the addition of a large infotainment display, digital gauge cluster, rotary shift knob and better materials. The Grand Wagoneer concept had a total of four displays inside, but that’s unlikely to be the case for the production Grand Cherokee.
As for its engine range, we expect entry-level models to run on FCA’s Pentastar 3.6-liter V6, with SRT-branded ones packing a naturally-aspirated V8. Meanwhile, a Hellcat-powered and a plug-in hybrid variant could both be in the cards as well.
