Hot on the heels of the SCG Baja Boot claiming a class victory at the Baja 1000, Larry Kosilla from AMMO NYC had the rare opportunity to clean and detail it.
As you can imagine, the Baja Boot was very, very dirty when it arrived at Kosilla’s workshop, so he started off by using a pressure washer to get rid of much of the dirt covering the car. After that, the detailer and his team sprayed shampoo foam and let it soak in for a few minutes before going to town with a number of microfiber towels.

After washing out the interior and making use of the handy drain plug, the exterior detailing began. As you would imagine, the car was clad in swirl marks and scratches so buffing out all those imperfections from the paint took quite a bit of time.
In the latter third of the video, Kosilla takes a quick tour of James Glickenhaus’ incredible garage which houses heaps of iconic race cars including a Pininfarina P4/5, perhaps the most famous car he owns.
What makes the Baja Boot particularly interesting is the fact that it isn’t a one-off race car but a street-legal variant is also available. Initially, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus is focusing on production of two-door models, with customers having the option of a 460 hp LS1 V8 and a 650 HP supercharged LT4 V8. In addition, Glickenhaus recently revealed that the car could even be offered with an 840 hp LT5 V8.
