2021 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Gains More Equipment, New Limited Edition

Mitsubishi has introduced the 2021 Outlander Sport, ahead of its launch in the United States next month.

Starting at $20,995, the 2021 Outlander Sport features additional standard safety equipment including automatic high beam headlights, lane departure warning and a forward collision mitigation system.

There’s also a new Limited Edition (LE) variant which begins at $23,995. The model is based on the ES trim and features a black grille, black mirror caps and black 18-inch alloy wheels. The Limited Edition also sports a modestly revised interior with red contrast stitching on the seats, steering wheel, shifter and parking brake.

If that’s not special enough, the Black Edition (BE) returns for 2021 with a handful of updates. It features unique air dams, body side graphics and black 18-inch wheels with red accents. The crossover also has black mirrors and door handles as well as an alloy fuel door.

Rounding out the highlights is an 8-inch infotainment system – with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay – that comes standard on all trims except for the S and ES, which have a smaller 7-inch display.  For 2021, ES and above trims also come equipped with rain-sensing windshield wipers, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and LED fog lights.

Engine options carryover and include a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 148 hp (110 kW / 150 PS) and 145 lb-ft (197 Nm) of torque. A 2.4-liter four-cylinder – with 168 hp (125 kW / 170 PS) and 167 lb-ft (226 Nm) of torque – is also available, but it’s limited to the range-topping Outlander Sport GT AWC which begins at $26,995.
