2022 Bentley Bentayga EWB Stretches Its Legs And Will Allow Owners To Do The Same7

Bentley has been without an extended wheelbase model since the death of the Mulsanne, but that will soon change as the company is putting the finishing touches on the Bentayga EWB.

Caught undergoing testing in Europe, the prototype is pretty unremarkable as the front and rear ends carryover from the standard Bentayga. However, when viewed from the side, you can easily tell this isn’t your typical ultra-luxury crossover.

As you can see, the model sports an extended wheelbase and massive rear doors. There’s no word on how much longer the Bentayga EWB will be, but the Mulsanne EWB could offer some hints. The sedan featured a 9.8 inch (250 mm) longer wheelbase and all of that was dedicated to providing rear seat passengers with more legroom.

The Bentayga EWB will likely do the same and it will presumably come equipped with two individual rear seats that feature power legrests. We can also expect a more upscale version of the rear center console currently found on the standard Bentayga with the four-seat configuration.

Engine options should carryover and this means we can expect a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 with 542 hp (404 kW / 550 PS) and 568 lb-ft (770 Nm) of torque. There could also be a twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 with 626 hp (467 kW / 635 PS) and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque as well as a plug-in hybrid variant producing 443 hp (330 kW / 449 PS) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque.

Of course, speed and efficiency isn’t really the name of the game as extended wheelbase models are all about comfort, space and luxury.
