Car retailers are constantly coming up with all sorts of ideas and promotions to attract consumers into their stores these days. America’s largest used car retailer, CarMax, is introducing the “Love Your Car Guarantee” which will allow you test drive your next car for 24 hours before buying.
And if 24 hours isn’t enough to really enough to make up your mind, CarMax will also let you return your car for a full refund. The “30-Day Money Back Guarantee” gives you a month or 1,500 miles to really decide if the car you signed for is the one for you. That’s enough miles to get you from Boston to Miami – though, as always, you should make sure you read all the fine print.

The company’s research found that 96% of used car shoppers say they would take advantage of a 24-hour test drive. It also found that 63% of shoppers want more than 7 days to be really sure they’ve made the right choice.
Although CarMax claims to be the first dealer in the used market implement these offers, longer test drives have been creeping into new car dealerships, even if it’s not exactly common yet. As recently as October 2020, Vauxhall introduced 48-hour test drives in the UK.
CarMax has 2020 locations across the US and offers more than 60,000 vehicles nationwide. The company has also introduced a range of offers focused on making purchasing easier during the pandemic, including curbside pickup, home delivery, and online shopping.
