The BMW M2 Competition is one of the German automaker’s most driver-focused cars, so it’ll come as little surprise to you that Top Gear host Chris Harris owns one.

In one of last year’s Top Gear Magazine’s issues Harris actually tested the new M2 CS alongside his very own M2 Competition.

The journalist’s M2 Competition is painted in shade of black which, under certain lights, has a metallic purple hue to it. It suits the aggressive shape of the sports car to a tee and has been perfectly offset with a set of gold wheels from BMW. Overall, the exterior of the car is relatively subtle but the wheels add that little bit of extra appeal and certainly make it stand out on the street. The car also has an Akrapovic exhaust and Bilstein dampers.

Harris drives his M2 Competition quite frequently and recently sent it to a detailer in the UK to get a thorough clean and rejuvenation. Not only does this video provide us with an excellent tour of both the exterior and interior but the detailer and YouTuber talks us through what was done to make the car look as good as it did when it first left the factory.

Both the M2 CS and M2 Competition feature BMW’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six, but whereas the Competition is capped at 405 hp and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque, the M2 CS delivers 444 hp while retaining the same torque figure. Unsurprisingly, the CS is faster, but in his review, Harris says he thinks he made the right choice.
