Police in Florida are on the lookout for a group of motorcycle riders who violently attacked a man following a road rage incident on January 9th.

As you can see the video, everything seems routine until the vehicle with the camera comes to an intersection with a motorcycle stopped in the middle.

The driver of the car then stops and shouts at the motorcyclists saying “You can’t f*cking do this.”  This is a bit ironic as the man himself is blocking the intersection, but it doesn’t stop him from repeatedly swearing at the motorcyclists and telling them to “Get the f*uck out of the way!”

Needless to say, this was a stupid thing to do as the person should have just continued on their way and called the police. Instead, he sparked a road rage incident where no one comes out looking good.

After the shouting match, the man speeds off and narrowly avoids hitting a motorcycle that turned in front of him. He then continues down the road and appears to try hitting a motorcycle in the lane next to him.

Things come to a head when the vehicle becomes stuck in traffic and the motorcyclists attack the man as well as his car. The video ends shortly thereafter, but Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers said the man was beaten with helmets and a wrench, before being knocked to the ground and repeatedly kicked.

Thanks to the video and a reward of up to $3,000 (£2,191 / €2,477), tips started coming in. This reportedly led to the arrest of multiple people including Jermin DeLeon (charged with aggravated battery and criminal mischief), Roberto Deltoro (charged with felony battery and property damage) and Kevin Cordero (charged with felony battery). However, they’ still looking for two other suspects.

This was a bad incident all around and one that likely could have been avoided. If the motorcycles were “weaving in and out of traffic, cutting off motorists and blocking intersections” as claimed, the driver should have simply called police and let them deal with it.

He certainly shouldn’t have blocked an intersection, engaged in a shouting match and apparently tried to hit one or two of the motorcyclists. Of course, the bikers were also in the wrong so this is a case of two wrongs not making a right.
