If you were at Le Mans in 1980 then you saw this very Porsche 935 JLP-2 come second in its class and 9th overall. And it can now be yours.
Mind you, you’ll have to pay a pretty penny to get it. For sale with RM Sotheby‘s as a private sale, the seller is asking for $2.1 million dollars for this piece of Porsche racing history.
An evolution of the Carrera RSR, the 935 was introduced in 1976 for Group 5 racing. In its day, this car was driven by famed racing drivers like Brian Redman and father-son team John Paul and John Paul Jr.

The 935 was recently immortalized by Porsche when they released a throwback version known as the second-generation version. The legacy of the 935, meanwhile, was cemented when it took an overall win at the 1979 24 Hours of Le Mans.
In all it took more than 150 race wins worldwide including six wins each at the Daytona 24 Hours and the 12 Hours of Sebring.
This example, chassis number 00900043, was restored between 1994-1995 be ANDIAL. It has had a full engine and gearbox rebuild. In 2020 was prepared for vintage racing by Crubile Sport in France.
It has competed at the Le Mans Classic & Classic Endurance Racing in 2016 and 2018. It is eligible for classic racing around the world and is pretty likely to get you noticed wherever you go.
