The late Paul Walker, star of the Fast and Furious franchise, was known for having a huge personal car collection full of all kinds of special vehicles, and this 1965 Shelby 427 Cobra CSX1010 is one of them.

Offered by Mecum Auctions, this FAM edition Cobra has quite the unusual story behind its name.

FAM actually stands for “Ferrari’s @ss is Mine”, and it refers to Carroll Shelby and Ford’s racing rivalry with Ferrari. Adding to that jab, the car is finished in Ferrari’s signature color scheme of Rosso Corsa paint with a tan leather interior. The continuation car was personally commissioned by Carroll Shelby in the late 1990s and features FAM badging and gauges throughout. Only 14 CSX1000 series Cobras were ever built, and only two of them were FAM editions, only adding to this car’s status.

On the performance side, the car features a matching-numbers Shelby 427 FE 468 V8 producing 550 hp. It also has a Tremec TKO600 5-speed manual transmission, 4-wheel independent suspension, rack-and-pinion steering, an oil cooler and dual-fan aluminum radiator, Shelby aluminum differential housing, and Wilwood brakes with Shelby calipers.

As for aesthetics, in addition to the Rosso Corsa paint and tan interior as mentioned before, the car also features a hand rolled aluminum body built by AC Cars. It also includes a stainless steel roll bar, custom Shelby carpeting, a 15-inch original style steering wheel, an S/C dash layout, and Halibrand-style 15-inch pin drive wheels.

This Cobra could be your chance to own a true piece of automotive history, as not only was it commissioned by Carroll Shelby and owned by Paul Walker, but it’s also an iconic car in an exceedingly rare specification.
