Hot on the heels of the 2021 Boxster 25 Edition being unveiled, Porsche has released its official promotional clip.
The video follows a mother and son driving the new car while providing flashbacks of them when they were younger and enjoying the first-generation Boxster. This story is fitting as the Boxster 25 Edition has been launched to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Porsche’s mid-engined sports car.
In designing the limited-edition model, Porsche took inspiration from the Boxster concept car unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show in 1993. Key parts of its exterior design include copper-colored paint on the front and side air intakes, ‘Boxster 25’ badge, and 20-inch alloy wheels. Porsche has only showcased the car wearing a GT Silver metallic finish, but it will also be offered in Jet Black Metallic and Carrara White Metallic.

The interior of the Boxster 25 Edition is clad in Bordeaux Red leather and sports a red folding soft top, while a black interior with black roof is also available. Other key highlights of the cabin include brushed aluminum accents, 14-way electrically adjustable sports seats, door sill trims with ‘Boxster 25’ lettering and a heated GT multifunction sport leather steering wheel.
Powering the car is a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six with 394 hp and 309 lb-ft (419 Nm) and is available with either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch. With the manual, it maxes out at 182 mph (293 km/h), whereas with the dual-clutch and the standard Sport Chrono package it will hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.8 seconds.
Porsche will build just 1,250 examples of the Boxster 25, with U.S. pricing starting at $98,600 excluding delivery fees.
