Brabus has released a new performance upgrade package for the Mercedes-AMG A45 S, named rather confusingly as the B45-450, which makes the baby AMG an even more powerful hot hatch.
The new performance package includes new engine mapping, along with the Brabus PowerXtra CPC auxiliary control unit, the Brabus BoostXtra adapter, and a special duct for the airbox.
Drag Race: Can The Mercedes-AMG A45 S Justify The Premium Over The A35?
The Brabus BoostXtra adapter allows the turbocharged engine to make “a sporty blow-off noise like a racecar”, which is rather excellent news for turbo-sneezing admirers and forced-induction connoisseurs.
The subtle engine modifications allow the 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine to produce an extra 28 HP (29 PS) and 37 lb-ft (50 Nm) of torque, for a total of 444 HP (450 PS) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm). Brabus claims that the 0-62 mph (100 km/h) drops to 3.7 seconds, down from the stock’s 3.9 seconds. Top speed remains unchanged, at 168 mph (270 km/h).
In addition, Brabus offers a set of height-adjustable sports springs, which can lower the sizzling hot hatch between 0 and 30 mm, and a set of tailor-made Monoblock Z 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 245/30 Continental tires. The new wheels feature ten spokes with polished surfaces and offer “outstanding strength and lightweight construction”.
The interior of the Brabus-tuned Mercedes-AMG A45 S features stainless scuff plates with the Brabus logo, which can be illuminated in 64 different colors in coordination with the ambient lighting, a set of Brabus aluminum pedals, and of course quality branded velour floor mats.
For customers wishing a more personalized interior, Brabus offers the option of an exclusive leather interior, offered in virtually any color and upholstery design.
The Brabus upgrade package for the Mercedes-AMG A45 S is accompanied by a three-year warranty, after passing Germany’s TÜV type approval test.
