A few years back, American boutique company VLF Automotive wanted to make around 50 units of the Force 1 V10, but production ended after only 5 of them saw the light of day, including, 4 coupes and the one-and-only convertible pictured here.
The person responsible for the design of both was Henrik Fisker, who formed VLF Automotive with former GM Vice Chairman Bob Lutz and businessman Gilbert Villarreal.
Building the Force 1 from the ground up would have been too costly, so the small company decided to base it on the Dodge Viper. As a result, it sports the same platform and engine, but different bodywork, a modified cockpit and even more power.
The 8.4-liter V10 is good for 745 HP and 638 pound-feet (865 Nm) of torque, and came matched to a six-speed manual transmission. This recipe allowed it to go from nought to 60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3 seconds, and up to a top speed of 218 mph (351 km/h).

One might think that the powerhouse resting under that long hood in this Force 1 V10 Roadster has seen a lot of action, but that’s not the case, because the listing on Atlantis Motor Group (via DupontRegistry) claims that the car has only been driven for 154 miles (248 km).
Finished in Dark Graphite, on top of a black interior, the unique ride premiered one year after its fixed-roof sibling was presented to the world at the Detroit Auto Show, and is now in search of a new home.
Signing your name on the dotted line comes after paying the asking price of $349,900, which isn’t bad given that it’s one-of-a kind model. No doubt, it could mean the world to the right collector, as this is not only a one-off vehicle, but also a small piece of American automotive history, and a very fast one if we may add.
H/T to Henry!
