Attempting to steal a car is, obviously, against the law. Attempting to steal one from a dealership, while surrounded by dozens of people, is also dim-witted. Video recently shared to Reddit shows such a scene playing out in the city of Brisbane, Australia.
The clip starts out by showing an individual behind the wheel of a white Mitsubishi Outlander. It is unclear if he had just arranged a test drive in the SUV or not, but he found himself in the driver’s seat and proceededs to lock the doors while dealership employees try to get him out of the vehicle.

For whatever reason, the man behind the wheel has quite a lot of trouble actually driving off in the car and on a handful of occasions, pins the throttle while the car is still in neutral. He also appears unable to disengage the emergency brake. At one stage, he does manage to briefly do a U-turn but is blocked off by a Toyota LandCruiser.
Before long, those at the dealership threaten to smash out one of the windows if the driver doesn’t get out. He fails to do so and one staffer bashes out the driver’s side window with a yellow steel bollard. The man is then dragged out of the car and put to the ground, while he’s shouting for help and says “I wasn’t taking it”.
Many specifics about the incident remain unclear, including what happened after the camera cut off. Presumably, the local police were called to the scene.
