Fully restored Land Rover Defenders are very pricey indeed, yet this custom project makes the new one seem like a bargain.
Brought back to its former glory and extensively modified by Osprey, it is for sale on their official website for an eye-watering $189,950. By comparison, one could get two base 911 Carreras, or the 911 Turbo S for around $13,500 more. But since that’s comparing apples to oranges, a more fair comparison would be with the 2021 Lamborghini Urus, which starts at just over $220,000.

Of course, if you want a restomoded Defender, you want a restomoded Defender and that’s that. This 130 pickup truck came to life in 1988, is finished in Fuji White and has a powder-coated exoskeleton. It features a custom grille, Puma-spec bonnet, steel bumpers with extra lights up front and Kahn’s Mondial Retro Light 20-inch black alloy wheels shod in 275/65 off-road tires from Cooper.
Diamond-stitched leather upholstery adorns the seats and door cards. Elsewhere, this classic Defender has a Puma-spec dashboard, upgraded HVAC system with anodized aluminum controls, custom instrument panel and 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It also sports a wireless charging pad inside the center console, dual USB ports, LED ambient lighting, Rockford Fosgate audio, piano black accents, remote engine start, and power windows and door locks.
This modified Defender also sports heavy-duty suspension, disc brakes on both axles, underbody protection, custom exhaust system and extra sound deadening. Power comes from a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 making 435 horsepower and 425 pound-feet (576 Nm) of torque that’s paired to a six-speed automatic transmission with heavy duty transfer case and four-wheel drive.
