On the outside, it features a glossy black grille with five horizontal slats and 18-inch Magnetic Metallic-painted aluminum wheels.
“The Expedition STX is perfect for families who lead an active lifestyle that requires the capability and space of a full-size SUV”, said the Expedition brand manager Devin McParlane. “They get all of the content they desire at an attractive price, plus a great appearance.”
Power comes from a turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that produces 375 HP and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque. A non-limited-slip 3.15 rear axle, Class IV trailer hitch receiver, stop/start function and active grille shutters are standard, while four-wheel drive with an electronic limited-slip differential costs extra.
Customers can also spec the SUV with the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package, which adds a trailer brake, upgraded radiator, 3.73 rear axle and Pro Trailer Backup Assist. With this option, the vehicle’s towing capacity is 9,300 lbs (4,218 kg) with 2WD and 9,200 lbs (4,173 kg) with 4WD.
