The clock is ticking for Ford’s new F-150 Raptor that will be revealed during a special reveal event today, which you can watch right here live at 11:00 AM ET (8:00 AM PT).
The new generation of the F-150 Raptor is eagerly expected as it’s going to feature great improvements over the outgoing model.
Our spy shots of camouflaged test vehicles revealed that Ford is going to replace the rear leaf setup with coil springs, which in turn will allow for better control and a more comfortable ride. The new rear setup is also going to include a new brace for the rear axle as one of the many Raptor-specific enhancements in the chassis.

Under the bonnet of the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor, we expect to find a slightly revised version of the 3.5-liter V6 Ecoboost engine hooked up to the Blue Oval’s ever-present 10-speed automatic transmission. The engine could be tuned to produce a bit more power than the 450 HP on offer in the outgoing model.
One more thing we’re eagerly awaiting to see is if the V8 rumors are true. Ever since RAM came out with the 702 HP 1500 TRX that cheekily sports an engraving of a T. Rex eating a Raptor, there’s been talk about Ford planning an even high-performance Raptor R model wearing either the same or a slightly de-tuned version of the 760 HP supercharged ‘Predator’ V8 found in the Mustang Shelby GT500.
The interior of the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor will benefit from all the latest features that debuted in the regular F-150, including the larger 12-inch infotainment system and the configurable digital instrument cluster. Raptor-specific trim options, as well as special driving modes, are a given.
