Peugeot has entered the highly competitive one-ton pickup truck segment in the Middle East and Africa with the Landtrek.
Presented last year, it is finally up for grabs, with the official launch kicked off remotely by the brand’s director Linda Jackson and Stellantis regional COO Samir Cherfan.
The truck will be available at more than 180 Peugeot retailers in three body styles, single cab, double cab and chassis cab, and with a range of customized accessories that will include a chrome roll bar, running boards, thermoformed body protection, hard top, safety mats, alarm, and more.

Promising a generous interior space, the Landtrek benefits from a 10-inch touchscreen display inspired by the 508’s with a 10 GB hard drive, Bluetooth, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. It also features up to four exterior cameras, hill descent control, trailer swing control, lane departure warning and other safety gear.
Customers can choose between a 1.9-liter diesel with 150 PS (148 HP / 110 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque and a turbocharged 2.4-liter petrol rated at 210 PS (207 HP / 154 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft). Both units are offered with a Getrag six-speed manual transmission, though a Punch six-speed automatic with three driving modes (Manual, Sport and Eco) is an option for the petrol engine. Base versions come with rear-wheel drive, while a four-wheel drive system with 4L and 4H modes is also available.
Depending on the version, Peugeot’s pickup has a maximum ground clearance of 235 mm (9.3 in), attack and departure angles of 29/30 and 27/26 degrees respectively, and 600 mm (23.6 in) fording depth. It has a maximum payload of more than 1 ton (2,205 lbs) and a 3.5-ton (7,716-pound) towing capacity.
Finally, maintenance intervals have been extended to 10,000 km (6,214 miles) and the Landtrek is accompanied by a 3-year/100,000-km (62,137-mile) warranty.
