The 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo may have been upstaged by the 641 HP and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) Turbo S, but it is still a force to be reckoned with.
SportAuto put Christian Gebhardt behind the wheel of the German sports car for a hot lap of the Hockenheim-GP, and it did a 1:49.3. Thus, it managed to beat the McLaren 620R (1:49.4), old 911 Turbo S (1:50.0), Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S (1:52.8) and 718 Cayman GT4 (1:53.9).

The new 911 Turbo came three tenths of a second behind the Lamborghini Huracan Evo (1:49.0), which, in turn, was beaten by the Mercedes-AMG GT R (1:48.5) and McLaren 600LT (1:48.9). Moving further up the chart, we can see that the Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro did a 1:48.0, and the latest 911 Turbo S posted a 1:47.8. The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, McLaren 765LT and Ferrari 488 Pista completed the run in 1:47.3, 1:46.2 and 1:45.9 respectively, whereas the McLaren Senna still holds the unofficial record at the German track with 1:40.8.
Unveiled last summer, the 2021 911 Turbo has 32 HP more than its predecessor, with its twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six producing 572 HP, while torque has gone up by 29 lb-ft (40 Nm), at 553 lb-ft (750 Nm). Top speed is the same, at 198 mph (320 km/h), but the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint is now dealt with in 2.7 seconds, a 0.2 seconds improvement.
The 911 Turbo Coupe has an MSRP of $170,800 and the Cabriolet starts at $183,600.
