With the global pandemic limiting ways in which companies can unveil cars to physical audiences, many are now embracing online events to spread the news far and wide. And while it may be challenging to differentiate one launch from another, Mitsubishi has found one way to do so: be the first to launch a car on Amazon Live.
For those of you who don’t know, Amazon live is the online retailer’s alternative to the popular US shopping channel QVC, presenting live streams of some of their most popular products with TV-style hosting and demonstration.
The all-new 2022 Outlander will be the first car launched on Amazon Live on February 16. Although appearing on the shopping giant’s platform, you won’t be able to order one through Amazon’s website – you’ll still need to find a Mitsubishi dealer to do that.

“This collaboration allows us to provide more options for customers to discover new products and brands, and helps Mitsubishi connect with customers in a new and meaningful way,” Munira Rahemtulla, Director, Amazon Live, said.
News of the launch comes bundled with the info that the first batch of all-new Outlanders has rolled off the production line and are about to head across the Pacific. Mitsubishi is also preparing to run a giveaway, open from February 16th to March 31st, for one lucky entrant to walk away with a brand-new Outlander.
The Japanese automaker has been steadily feeding information on the new Outlander. Last month they released a video depicting a test driver having a whale of a time behind the wheel of a camouflaged prototype.

The Outlander is expected to ride on the same underpinnings as the latest Nissan Rogue/X-Trail. However, we’re told that the design will signal a new direction for the brand, taking inspiration from the legendary Parejo/Montero nameplates. It’s also set to incorporate knowledge garnered from the three-diamond’s rally exploits in the Outlander’s new Super All Wheel Control AWD system.
You can watch the live unveiling here, on Tuesday, February 16th at 3 pm PST/6 pm EST.
