For many years, the Mitsubishi Lancer was the car manufacturer’s most recognizable model but with consumer demand for sedans falling in recent years, it is sadly no more. Despite this, designer Enoch Gonzales has imagined what a modern-day Lancer could look like and while it’ll never see the light of day, we think it could reverse the fortunes of Mitsubishi were it built.
Gonzales first designed a new-generation of the Lancer some five years ago and while this updated model does share some similarities, it has also undergone a plethora of significant alterations that make it much more modern.

One of the most striking areas of the sedan is the front fascia that comes complete with angular headlights and sharp LED daytime running lights that neatly join with silver trim running around the outer edge of the grille. Speaking of the grille, it is quite different than the grilles of current Mitsubishi models, thanks in no small part to the prominent vertical strakes.
A look at the sides of the Lancer reveals a prominent crease running from the front wheel arch right through to the tailgate. The wing mirrors are also located on the doors, making for an intriguing design and similar to the new Mitsubishi Outlander and updated Eclipse Cross.
The rear of the car shares a resemblance to the 2021 Lexus IS, in particular with the LED taillights and full-width light bar. There’s also a pronounced bootlid lip spoiler just like the Lexus.
