A convicted felon from the UK is suing local police for crushing his Ferrari 458 Spider.

The man in question, 35-year-old Zahid Khan, fled to Dubai shortly before he was convicted of conspiracy to commit fraud, perverting the course of justice, and concealing and converting criminal property through a license plate scam. He is facing 10 years in a British prison but is instead living large in Dubai.

Now, Khan is suing West Midlands Police for crushing his Ferrari 458. According to Birmingham Live, Khan made headlines in April 2017 when he parked his Italian supercar on the pavement by the Birmingham Crown Court. This proved to be an unwise decision as local authorities quickly seized the car. Police also determined that it had no valid insurance and was a Category B vehicle, meaning it was unroadworthy due to damage and, thus, had to be destroyed.

Video shared on YouTuber back in early 2018 shows the moment Khan’s Ferrari was destroyed at a local scrapyard.

Speaking with Mail Online, Khan said: “I have now started proceedings against West Midlands Police for their unlawful conduct in relation to my Ferrari 458 spider worth 200k.”

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman commented that “Zahid Khan has previously lodged a letter of claim directly with the force which has already been denied. We have now received notification he has issued proceedings before the court, we will respond to the claim via the court process in due course.”

Police in the UK are said to know where Khan is living in Dubai and he could face extradition.
