The Cupra Leon is now officially on sale with the 2.0-liter TSI petrol engine in the UK.

The turbocharged four-cylinder puts out 300 PS (296 HP / 221 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, identical to the latest Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport, and drives the front wheels through a DSG transmission.

With 5.7 seconds required for the 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration and a 250 km/h (155 mph) top speed, performance is on par with its German cousin.

Pricing for the VZ3 version of the Cupra Leon starts at £37,390 ($52,670). The VZ3 gets different 19-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, heated front seats with power adjustment for the driver, heated steering wheel and wireless charging pad for compatible smartphones.

Customers can specify one of the seven colors, a panoramic sunroof, two nappa leather interiors (for the VZ3 only) and three levels of the Safety and Driving Pack as options.
