Deemed as one of the best sporty small crossovers on sale today, the Puma ST would be a well-deserved breath of fresh air in Ford’s U.S. lineup, and this is something that the company’s CEO Jim Farley would approve of.
In a social media post, the carmaker’s boss shared a short video ad of the Puma ST from Ford UK, saying “wish this came to NA (North America) and other markets!” – and we couldn’t agree more.

However, the chances of that happening are close to zero, so don’t get your hopes up too high, even though it would be challenged by the likes of the upcoming Hyundai Kona N – because the Korean automaker did announce that this model will launch Stateside.
Hypothetically speaking, the Puma ST would slot between the EcoSport and Escape. In Germany, it is offered from €29,490 ($35,768), while UK pricing starts at £28,495 ($39,660).
Based on the same platform as the latest Fiesta ST, it uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder gasoline engine, rated at 197 HP (200 PS / 147 kW) and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm) of torque, a 22 lb-ft (30 Nm) increase over its hot-hatch sibling. The Puma ST is offered strictly with front-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission and needs 6.7 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h), before maxing out at 137 mph (220 km/h).
