Netflix has dropped an official trailer for its Formula 1 documentary series that reveals the show’s third season will be released on March 19, 2021.

The short trailer doesn’t reveal much else new, but it should be enough to get you hyped for the new season of Formula 1: Drive to Survive, if you’re an F1 fan.

We learned earlier this year that despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic Netflix’s crews were allowed to film the third season of the show last year. Although there may be some minor accommodations to the virus, a video from F1 pundit Will Buxton released late last month suggested that they would only be noticed by the most hardcore of fans.

Since much of F1 action happens outdoors anyway, distancing was made a bit easier. With extended boom mics and quality lenses, the show should look and feel largely the same.

The trailer released today also reveals that closeup shots of the drivers should continue to give the audience the impression of intimacy that has made the show such a success.

The season is dropping just a few days after the 2021 season’s first tests in Barcelona. Set to take place between March 12-14, the pre-season test will be the first time we get to see each team’s new car in action.

We will get to see each car before then, though, through the teams’ official presentations. McLaren and Alpha Tauri (Red Bull’s second team) have already revealed their 2021 entrants; the rest plan to unveil their cars between now and March 10, although Haas and Red Bull have not announced their reveal dates yet.

The 2021 Formula 1 season is set to kick off with the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 28.
