Jeep is looking to build on the success of yesterday’s Super Bowl commercial by taking a look at “The Road Ahead.”
Designed to celebrate Jeep’s 80th anniversary and provide a glimpse into the future, The Road Ahead highlights the Wagoneer concept, the upcoming Grand Cherokee L and the plug-in hybrid Wrangler 4xe.
The latter is the shape of things to come as Jeep’s global president, Christian Meunier, said “All Jeep models will carry an electrified option in the next few years and will take green and 4×4 technology to the next level.”

The company isn’t stopping there as the website teases a Wrangler EV concept. It will be introduced as part of this year’s Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah.
Jeep is keeping details under wraps, but the teaser shows the concept will be instantly recognizable. However, there will be some modifications including a fully enclosed seven slot grille. The model also appears to feature a battery pack that is broken up into three different sections.
Jeep also showed solar charging stations that will be used to support the company’s electrified models. They’ll be installed in off-the-grid locations such as Moab, Utah and the Rubicon Trail in California.
Furthermore, The Road Ahead highlights Jeep’s Hands-Free Active Driving Assist that will be available later this year. It’s a Level 2 semi-autonomous driving system that will debut in the Grand Cherokee L and promises “hands-free driving at all speeds.”
Jeep also dropped some hints about how they’ll keep Grand Wagoneer customers happy. The company didn’t go into too many specifics, but said buyers can expect unprecedented levels of customers service from the first moment of contact and throughout the ownership experience.
This is important as the Grand Wagoneer is a luxury SUV on par with the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator. However, unlike the competition, Grand Wagoneers will be sold through mainstream dealerships and this can create a customer experience gap. To ensure the company doesn’t fall short on luxury expectations, there will be Wagoneer certified dealers who will presumably provide top-notch service, sales and support.
