The next chapter in Karma’s journey begins today as the company has introduced the new GS-6.

Looking instantly recognizable, the model retains the Revero GT’s stylish design but is far more affordable as pricing starts at $83,900 before federal, state and local incentives.

The GS-6 is available in three different trims known as Standard, Luxury and Sport. The company didn’t go into many specifics, but the model can be equipped with 21- or 22-inch wheels that are backed up by a Brembo braking system.

The interior is familiar as well and this means customers will find a digital instrument cluster and a 10.2-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Other highlights include heated and ventilated seats, an eight-speaker audio system and over-the-air updates.

Karma has embraced customization and this carries over to the GS-6. Besides carbon fiber trim and five different colors of leather, the model can be equipped with unique options such as reclaimed wood salvaged from California wildfires.

On the safety front, the car has eight air bags and an assortment of driver assistance systems including Lane Keep Support and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go. The model also boasts Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Parking Distance Monitoring and a Surround View Camera System.

Regardless of which trim level is selected, all GS-6s are range-extended electric vehicles. They have a 28 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which feeds two rear-mounted motors that produce a combined output of up to 536 hp (400 kW / 543 PS) and 550 lb-ft (746 Nm) torque.

The battery provides 80 miles (129 km) of pure electric range and is augmented by a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that acts as a generator. Thanks to the engine, the GS-6 has an overall range of 360 miles (579 km) and this can easily be extended by simply refueling.

To get the most out of the powertrain, the GS-6 has three different driving modes. Stealth mode uses the battery exclusively, while Sustain mode allows the engine to run to recharge the battery. Sport mode, on the other hand, uses power from both the engine and battery for maximum performance. Speaking of which, Sport mode lowers the 0-60 mph (96 km/h) time to approximately 3.8 seconds.

In terms of charging, the battery can be replenished in approximately four hours with a Level 2 charger.  Furthermore, a 45 kW DC fast charger can deliver a 90% charge in 34 minutes.

The GS-6 is available now and will be followed by an all-electric GSe-6 later this year. The EV will start at $79,900 and have a range of up to 300 miles (483 km).

As for the Revero GT, it isn’t going anywhere as the “nameplate will be moving up-market in future variants.”
