This is the Kia K8 that brings with it a striking new look and is also the first model from the brand to debut the new Kia logo.

The new Kia K8 serves as a replacement to the second-generation Kia K7, better known as the Cadenza in the United States. Kia has confirmed the sedan will launch in Korea later this year but has yet to specify what other markets it will be available in.

Found at the front of the K8 is a frameless tiger nose grille that has been neatly incorporated within the front bumper to differentiate the car from all other Kia models. The grille also features an intricate diamond lattice design, as do the standalone turn signals. Elsewhere, the Kia K8 features a dynamic character line said to take inspiration from “yachts sailing across calm waters.”

Kia has continued the striking design through to the rear with LED taillights that stretch around the corners of the car.

“Following our recent company rebrand, we keep moving toward our new brand values with a new model – the K8. This modern sedan has been designed with innovation and elegance at its very core,” senior vice president and head of Kia Global Design Center Karim Habib said. “While paying homage to the K7, the K8 looks to the future. Its progressive exterior takes on character and emotion, and combines those qualities with an expressive looking front and a dynamic swooping rear, giving the K8 a high-quality, premium presence that takes direct inspiration from some of the world’s most technically advanced yachts.”

Kia has yet to release images of the K8’s interior nor has it provided technical specifications about what is going on under the skin. It says the car has a “focus on modern, premium quality and dynamic performance.” More details will be released in the coming months.
