Minutes after unveiling the brand new CT4-V Blackwing and the CT5-V Blackwing, Cadillac had filled all 500 of their pre-order slots.

According to a Cadillac spokesperson who wrote to Carscoops in an email, the CT5-V Blackwing was the first to sell out by a matter of moments. Naturally, Cadillac will be selling more than 250 of each, so anyone who still wants one can sign up for the waitlist. If you choose to go on that list, a Cadillac dealer will get in touch once inventory is available.

“[On] Monday night, Cadillac’s performance pedigree found another gear as customers began reserving their V-Series Blackwings. The demand is a testament to the engineering and design teams that delivered the most track-capable Cadillacs ever,” said Rory Harvey, Global Vice President of Cadillac. “It also reflects the passion customers have for our V-Series performance brand.

And it’s little wonder why. The cars’ spec sheets paint an alluring picture. Starting at $59,990, the CT4-V Blackwing features a 472 hp twin-turbo V6 and a standard 6-speed manual. Neither the RS3 nor the AMG CLA 45 can keep up and neither is offered with a manual. In fact, it makes just one horsepower less than a larger M3.

The CT5-V Blackwing, meanwhile, which should compete with the M3, makes more power than an M5 CS thanks to its hulking 6.2-liter V8. Churning out 668 hp and 659 lb-ft of torque, the CT5-V Blackwing can easily outmuscle the competition and can also be hooked up to a 6-speed manual transmission. Pricing starts at $84,990.

Cadillac’s technological prowess should also mean that these won’t just be muscle cars, either. With the fastest magnetic ride control ever and much time spent in the wind tunnel, but should be pretty capable once the going gets twisty.

Deliveries for both are set to start this summer.
