The Polestar 2 has become smarter, with the Swedish automaker introducing over-the-air (OTA) updates.
Available since last December, it allows the company to address certain issues and bugs, thus eliminating the need for customers to visit the dealer to fix software glitches and enabling them to enjoy the latest tech and functionality developments.
“With OTA, we bring the latest software updates straight to Polestar 2 customers just like they experience it on their smartphones”, said CEO Thomas Ingenlath. “Our engineers are constantly improving functionality and developing new features, and with OTA, we will be able to push new software out regularly – which means that even the earliest cars can run the latest version and gain new features.”

The latest update brings improvements to different features, such as the climate timer, Bluetooth connectivity, 360-degree camera system and owner’s manual. It also improves the DC charging time speed, adds the latest Android Automotive OS and introduces Connected Safety.
Using data collected from other Polestar and Volvo vehicles on the road, the driver assist feature is a cloud-based service that warns drivers of potential hazards, such as slippery conditions up ahead or a potential collision.
