The Porsche Taycan has set no less than 13 separate endurance records at the Brands Hatch circuit in the UK.
During an endurance test with two Taycans and drivers Richard Attwood, Jonathan Palmer, Harry King and James Dorlin, the Taycan 4S and Taycan Turbo S covered no less than 1,000 km (620 miles) and in the process, set a multitude of new (albeit niche) records.

With the Taycan 4S, Porsche set various records in the category of ‘electric cars over 1000 kg,’ including the shortest time taken from a standing start to cover 50 km, 50 miles, 100 km, 500 km, 500 miles, and 1,000 km. It also set a record for distance covered from a standing start in one hour, covering 98.192 km. As for the Taycan Turbo S, it claimed records for time taken from a standing start to cover 200 km, 100 miles and 200 miles, and set a record for distance covered from a standing start in three hours (252.356 km), six hours (450.065 km) and 12 hours (915.762 km).
Porsche conducted the endurance tests to pay homage to the Porsche 917 that won the rain-soaked 1,000 km race at Brands Hatch in April 1970 with Pedro Rodriguez and Leo Kinnunen behind the wheel.
Of course, setting endurance records in an electric vehicle also requires careful calculation of charging times. During the run, the Taycan 4S spent a total of three hours and three seconds entering or exiting the charging area and charging, making six stops. Each stop took an average of 30 minutes, with the cars typically charging from around 5 per cent to 85 per cent.
